Working
Introduction

The Flatcoated Retriever Society has an experienced team of individuals on the Field Trial Sub-committee who work hard to promote the “retrieving” side of the flatcoat.

We run breed only KC Working Tests in the spring and summer months around the country, The Nationals and an Inter Area team event in the summer which is designed to encourage new handlers to be able to compete in a relaxed atmosphere with the support of more experienced handlers, each team must have a Novice Handler/ Novice dog in the team, a Novice and or puppy and an Open standard dog.

We also run Breed only qualifying KC Field Trials in the shooting season, the Shooting Dog Certificate which is designed to recognise the retrieving qualities in a dog but not yet trained to the standards required for a Field Trial, of course we hope those dogs continue with their training so that they in time are also entered in our Field Trials.

We arrange training days/events at various times in the year, we are always pleased to welcome new flatcoat owners to our events.

For further information please contact any member of the Field Trial sub-committee in your area.
